Example 1 - Segment Fee Increase
One GDS system is proposing a segment fee increase. The database can be used to see the specific impact on distribution costs in each region and/or by specific travel agent. When one major GDS announced a price increase for specific billing regions, the Finance department immediately needed to identify the impact on budgets. The Statistical Database provided the impact assessment within 15 minutes. Previously this task would have taken days.

Example 2 - One major international airline needed to know the cost per productive (legitimately booked) segment in the USA.
The USA Sales region reported increasing GDS costs year over year. These costs were reaching extreme levels. The "average productive booking fee" report revealed GDS subscribers costing as much as USD 232.00 per segment! Targets were isolated and a strategy introduced to reduce costs by over USD100,000 per year.

Example 3 - An airline wanted to isolate passive abuse. Using the database made this easy by running the report "View Agents with High Passives". Blanket policies (and other Airlogica products) had reduced one airline's passive booking activity to record low levels. However, passive activity still remained a large distribution cost. The database isolated high passive users. Further strategies have been introduced to reduce passives by over USD300,000 annually.

Example 4 - The database can confirm GDS market share versus business generated.
This gives users more knowledge when thinking about strategic planning for GDS and distribution costs. Using the database one airline analyzed GDS market share relative to business generated. This identified many regions where the airline is not getting its share of business, which immediately pointed to opportunities for increased business.
